Cirprotec renews UL listing for its range of PV PSM protective devices.

PSM PV is the range of devices for the protection of photovoltaic installations against voltage surges. These devices were specifically designed for the direct current side of roof and solar farms up to 1500 Vdc, and even for low voltage self-consumption (off-grid).

Cirprotec's commitment to the needs of panel builders (combiner boxes) and OEM system integrators (central and string inverters), has led to a PSM PV range with multiple certifications to UL 1449 4th edition and EN-50539-11.

The entire range has recently been updated from the 3rd to the 4th edition of UL 1449 for the USA and Canada (File E468946), well ahead of the deadlines specified in the actual standard.

Cirprotec uses the dynamic thermal disconnection system optimised for DC voltages with high breaking capacity. This means there is no need to install an upstream backup fuse to cut off the short-circuit currents typical of photovoltaic installations.
